Thorne Nature Experience is a place-based solution in Colorado that helps Latino and low-income youth have access to nature and outdoors. The team teaches youth to build earth stewardship by providing joy, hands-on environmental education experiences and exploration that foster an emotional connection to nature.
SWAHA understands that time in nature can be life changing and believes that is a human right to experience the beauty of wild places. Providing access to nature, especially for young people, helps establish a connection and appreciation of nature that leads to environmental stewardship. For this reason, SWAHA supports Thorne and shares in its mission to make time in nature joyful and personal. Thorne fulfills all three of SWAHA’s core concerns – education, human rights, and environment.
